This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by supporting the Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health (MCAH) Division in its continued efforts to optimize data and technology to advance goals and inform action and accountability.
The candidate works under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I), Chief of the Administrative and Business Services (ABS) Unit, the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) performs the more complex analytical tasks necessary for carrying out a variety of assignments related to the primary program functions of the MCAH Division. The AGPA will support the ABS Unit in its work towards continuous improvement to leverage various platforms to streamline business processes, increase transparency and provide the highest level of customer service.
Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- Proficient in office systems such as: Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Strong Interpersonal communication (verbal and written) with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
- Ability to develop high-level reports, proposals, analyses, policies and other work products.
- Ability to interpret federal, state, and Departmental guidelines, administrative manuals, and bargaining contract provisions.
- Ability to work under pressure, execute sound judgement, and exercise a high degree of confidentiality when performing a variety of assigned tasks.
