DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will oversee and participate in the activities of subordinate psychological staff. This includes screening inmates referred for psychiatric and mental health services, making appropriate referrals for evaluation or treatment, conducting psychological assessments, and administering and interpreting diagnostic measures. You will utilize diagnostic techniques to assess intellectual functioning, personality structure, interests, aptitudes, and other psychological factors. Your responsibilities will also involve providing individual and group counseling, psychotherapy, and other therapeutic interventions. Additionally, you will formulate both short-term and long-term psychological treatment goals for inmates and provide immediate crisis intervention and therapeutic services. As the administrative supervisor, you will contribute to the development of psychological services programs, assist in creating and integrating new policies and procedures, and develop and implement a counseling program to address adjustment issues in daily life, social interactions, and work environments.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Licensed Psychologist MH or Psychologist; or
- One year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness, mental retardation or behavioral dysfunction.
Special Requirement:
- You must have possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology or possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by another state with licensure requirements acceptable to the Board. Applicants with out-of-state licensure must obtain Pennsylvania licensure within one year of employment.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
