
Lead Grant Analyst
The Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Branch (CLPPB) oversees a statewide program that provides a wide and complex array of primary and secondary prevention services to children with lead poisoning, lead exposure or risk of lead exposure.
This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by contributing to state-wide primary prevention of childhood lead poisoning through program planning, service delivery, risk assessments and lead hazard control.
The Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) will act as the lead analyst for the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Branch’s (CLPPB) Lead Hazard Reduction Program (LHRP) funded by the U.S. Housing and Urban Development Department (HUD). The program’s purpose is to maximize the number of children under the age of six protected from lead poisoning by undertaking comprehensive programs to identify and control lead-based paint hazards in eligible low-income homes. The AGPA will serve as a subject matter expert in lead hazard control performing systems development, program planning and analysis to help meet benchmarks to deliver on the Grant funded program. This program contributes to advancing health equity and improving children’s health in California.
Desirable Qualifications

- Certification by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) as a Lead-Related Construction Inspector/Assessor and as a Supervisor (or ability to become certified within 120 days of hire).

- Advanced interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide consultation and recommendation to all levels of management and staff.
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with external agencies, partners, and institutions.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with management and staff across departments and to provide counsel and guidance on highly complex issues of functionality, efficiency, and program operations.
- Flexible, optimistic, and resilient in the face of change.
- Current knowledge of, or able to quickly learn, an array of remote communication and collaboration tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Slack and SharePoint
