Environmental Education Internship
Join the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation and Friends of Reinstein Woods in this paid internship.
· Plan and lead hands-on activities for students, youth groups and the general public
· Learn nature study and education techniques
· Attend educator training workshops
· Serve as a public liaison at the Education Center
Use your creativity to complete an independent project. Past intern projects include:
- Plan and present a public program
- Develop lesson plans and teaching materials
- Create a seasonal display or brochure
Qualifications:
· Minimum two years of college or equivalent experience
· Natural science or environmental background and experience working with children preferred.
· Valid driver’s license and ability to work in the United States required.
Work & Living Arrangements:
· 37.5 hours/week, NYS hourly minimum wage
· Free on-site housing (depending on availability)
· Occasional weekend and evening work
