More about you

We’re looking for an R&D Intern to join our R&D LED Electronics Team in Rosemont (Chicago area), Illinois.

As an R&D Intern for Connected Lighting, you’ll be responsible for assisting our R&D engineers to create and evaluate the next generation of new leading-edge innovations in LED Connected Lighting for the North American Lighting market. You will be part of our talented R&D team in Rosemont and will work in a highly diverse, dynamic, and cross-functional team.

What you’ll do

  • Perform hands-on testing and evaluation of LED connected lighting Products such as LED drivers, sensors, and LED Modules.
  • Conduct benchmarking, application testing, perform data analysis, and generate accurate engineering test reports and related documents and present information to team.
  • Translate customer/application requirements into technical specifications for system developers.

 

Your qualifications

  • A current engineering student pursuing a Bachelor’s (Junior or Senior level) or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
  • Knowledgeable in design/development of embedded software, PC and mobile software applications/tools for setup, configuration and/or commissioning of electronics products and systems
  • Knowledgeable of Power Electronics/LED Lighting products/Lighting Control products
  • Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as C#, Python, Visual Basic etc. is a plus.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with wireless communication technologies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee etc. is a plus.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based databases and extraction and analysis of data is a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Passionate about getting hands-on working experience with lighting fixtures and components

 

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future company sponsorship needs.

Pay Rate: $21 - $28 per hour (based on year of study)
