Deputy Clerk Circuit Court III
The Courtroom Deputy Clerk III will be in the criminal division which shall include the criminal courtroom. This position is responsible for providing initial criminal court administration assistance to judges, attorneys, defendants, and court personnel. This position prepares all necessary paperwork to reflect judge’s orders whether in criminal or, if necessary, civil proceedings. The Courtroom Deputy Clerk III must be able to multi-task and prioritize in order to start and stop what they are doing, as needed. The ideal Courtroom Deputy Clerk candidate will have knowledge of court proceedings, preferably circuit court experience, but training may be provided for a candidate with prior general or juvenile domestic courtroom experience. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Enter various data and information in state computer systems, including case entry that must be extremely accurate for certifying cases from Juvenile Domestic and Relations (JDR) and General District Court (GDC) appeals.
- Handle direct indictments and audit, research guidelines, and compose and type a variety of routine documents.
- Organize and maintain departmental records and update the case management and financial management systems, including receipt fees, taxes, fines, restitution, and court costs for various court matters.
- Authenticate legal documents through the certification process including preparing, gathering, and organizing all required judicial paperwork with accuracy and in accordance with appropriate policies and statutory regulations with a broader skill level.
- Appropriately and expeditiously handle hearing matters for various defendants.
