District Manager
BASIC FUNCTION:
The District Manager (DM) will be directly responsible for overseeing operations at 5-15 client facilities. Reporting directly to the Senior Aquatics Manager, District Managers will ensure that all facilities within their district are held to company and client standards. This will entail responsibilities such as regularly monitoring facility conditions, as well as regularly communicating with Area Managers to determine facility needs. District Managers will also respond to facility safety concerns, client grievances, and patron issues, addressing and resolving them in a timely and professional manner. District Managers will utilize a company work vehicle to travel between the Hastings Water Works office and client facilities to perform routine inspections (typically anywhere between 1-5 times a week–depending on facility needs) and to drop off supplies and chemicals as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facility Management:
- Direct supervision of all facilities in designated district
- Responsible for overseeing the maintenance at each pool. This includes but may not be limited to:
- Performing regular inspections of each facility’s operating condition
- Cleaning pump baskets, monitoring filtration system, and backwashing when necessary
- Monitoring chemical and supply inventory at each facility and restocking as needed
- Communicating daily with Area Managers and Service Department to determine day-by-day facility needs
- Relaying information on major pool and pump room maintenance issues to Regional Management
- Immediately respond to and address all facility issues (mechanical, administrative, client concerns, safety concerns, medical emergencies, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned
Personnel Management:
- Responsible for supervision of a team of 35-80 employees within designated district including Area Managers, Lifeguards, and Pool Attendants
- Mentor Area Managers through facility orientations and troubleshooting pump rooms
- Perform facility audits as a means to gauge Area Manager job performance
- Ensure employees and Area Managers adhere to the Hastings Water Works employee handbooks as well as all American Red Cross and Ohio Revised Code policies and procedures
- Responsible for addressing employee handbook violations and performance failures and issuing disciplinary/corrective action as necessary

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Essential:
- High school diploma, GED or in the process of obtaining a High school diploma or GED
- A minimum age of 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license with safe driving record – to drive company vehicles
- American Red Cross Certification (Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR and AED)
Preferred:
- 3+ years lifeguarding
- A minimum of one (1) year manager experience
- American Red Cross Certification (Lifeguard Instructor and/or Lifeguard Instructor Trainer)
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business Administration/Management, Operations Management, Project Management, Public Relations, or Sports/Recreation Management
