Acquisition Management Specialist
Duties
As an Acquisition Management Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
- Support the planning and administrative needs of the laboratory by assisting in developing solicitations and contract awards. Perform cradle-to-grave contract administration to include contract closeouts. Follow established guidelines while under the direction of higher graded specialists.
- Provide support throughout the procurement process. Develop Statements of Work, maintain file documentation, and draft memorandums. Utilize a government purchase card and reconcile purchase card transactions and processing invoices. Collaborate with vendors and representatives to discuss procurement needs, product or service quality, market prices, and delivery schedules.
- Perform post-award activities for the office. Review contracts, work directives, and other ordering instruments to extract schedules of deliverable items and services. Determine the impact of delinquencies and expedite actions as necessary. Coordinate with technical personnel to address slippages, resolve specification issues, and assess the acceptance of substitute items.
Conditions of Employment
This position will be filled under the DOC Alternative Personnel System (CAPS). This system replaced the Federal GS pay plan and structure. Under CAPS, positions are classified by career, pay plan, and pay band.
The ZA-2 is equivalent to the (GS-7/9).
To qualify at the ZA-2 or (GS-7/9) level: Address the following in your resume - ALSO note hours worked and full-time/part-time MUST be listed on your resume:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one full year {52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the ZA-2 or (GS-7) in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following:
- Providing contract administration assistance such as evaluating contract proposals, preparing contract awards, or participating in contract closeout activities; and
- Assisting with acquisitions tasks or planning for an office or program.
