Job Summary:

This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Administrative Program Assistant position for the Experiential Learning and Activities (ELA ) Department at Oregon State University (OSU ). This is a limited duration appointment expected to last approximately 6 months from the appointment begin date.

This position works within the Experiential Learning and Activities (“ELA”) department and plays an important role in supporting student-lead clubs and organizations to foster an inclusive campus community. This position works closely with students to facilitate the creation of new clubs, supporting existing clubs through the annual recognition process, and providing on-going support for their activities. The Coordinator serves as a resource, mentor and advisor for student club officers and ensures that clubs have the necessary tools and guidance to thrive, build community and create environments where students experience a sense of belonging.

What You Will Need

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

What We Would Like You to Have

• Professional experience in a higher education environment.

• Demonstrated experience advising college students.

• Knowledge of principles of risk management as they pertain to student activities and public events.

• Experience with student organization management software.

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications

• Ability to be organized, to prioritize and be self-directed

• Demonstrated ability to learn new technological systems and tools.

Working Conditions / Work Schedule

• Travel to and from meeting & event venues is required

• This position works in an office environment with frequent interruptions and activity.

• Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds required.

• Must be able to work at a compute for long periods of time.

• Due to the services provided by this department, this position may work outside of typical business hours, especially during special events or in response to system problems, particularly during spring term.
