Fullstack Web Development Intern - Redvest (Remote/Hybrid in Marina del Rey, CA)

Are you a skilled and passionate web developer looking to work on exciting projects in a fast-paced startup environment? Redvest, an AI-powered stock market game app for Gen Z, is a rapidly growing company with over 150,000 users. We are looking for a Fullstack Web Development Intern to join our innovative team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience working on a large-scale application while contributing to financial education through gamified experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Frontend Development: Build responsive web interfaces using React with dynamic, reusable components.
  • Backend Development: Work with Firebase, Node.js, and Python to design and integrate robust backend systems.
  • API Integration: Develop and work with RESTful APIs to enhance app functionality.
  • Database Management: Utilize Firebase Firestore and other database tools to manage data.
  • Payment Integration: Assist with implementing payment systems using Stripe.
  • Deployment: Work with Heroku to manage and deploy applications effectively.
  • Code Collaboration: Use GitHub for version control and team collaboration.
  • Game Design: Collaborate with the team to design and implement game features (a plus).
  • Finance Integration: Work on features related to financial data and market simulations (a plus).
  • Debug, optimize, and ensure the overall performance and scalability of the web application.

Qualifications:

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in React and JavaScript.
  • Strong understanding of Firebase (Firestore, Authentication, Cloud Functions).
  • Knowledge of Node.js and Python for backend development.
  • Experience working with APIs.
  • Comfortable with GitHub for version control.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Stripe for payment integrations.
  • Familiarity with Heroku or similar deployment platforms.
  • Background in finance or game design is a plus.

Other Requirements:

  • Must have worked on real-world projects or prior internships showcasing relevant skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to adapt and work effectively in a startup environment.
