Position Title: Marketing and Communications Intern for Fund Development
Organization: Delphi Rise
Location: Rochester, NY Reports To: Fund Development Manager
Timeframe: Summer 2025
Position Summary: Delphi Rise is seeking a Marketing and Communications Intern to support the Fund Development team in planning and promoting fundraising events, enhancing brand visibility, and conducting market research to improve our outreach efforts. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to contribute to the success of Delphi Rise’s mission, supporting individuals and families affected by substance use and mental health challenges in the Rochester community. Ideal candidates will have a background in marketing, communications, or event planning and a passion for nonprofit work.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Marketing and Branding Initiatives
- Develop and manage a social media content calendar, with posts highlighting Delphi Rise’s programs, impact stories, and event updates.
- Create digital and print materials—such as graphics, brochures, and flyers— that align with Delphi Rise’s branding.
- Assist in crafting donor engagement content, including thank-you messages, newsletters, and program updates, to boost Delphi Rise’s visibility and donor relationships.
2. Public Relations and Media Outreach
- Draft press releases and create media kits for major announcements and upcoming events.
- Assist with community outreach, engaging local businesses, organizations, and influencers to raise awareness about Delphi Rise’s work.
3. Social Media
- Assist with posting on social media channels for Delphi Rise, including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
4. Market Research and Strategy Development
- Conduct competitive analysis of other nonprofits, focusing on successful fundraising, event planning, and donor engagement strategies.
- Identify effective marketing techniques from similar organizations, with a focus on digital engagement, email marketing, and storytelling approaches.
- Explore innovative, mission-aligned fundraising ideas and compile findings into a report with actionable recommendations to inform Delphi Rise’s future marketing and fundraising strategies.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Arts and Humanities.
- Strong interest in nonprofit marketing, fundraising, and community engagement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in content creation preferred.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Spark) is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
