VIS Creator™ Role Description 

VOICEINSPORT is a global digital sport company that connects and inspires girls and women in sport through a members-only community platform. VOICEINSPORT provides access to original content written and produced by women athletes, formal mentorship from Pro athletes and access to the top Experts in Sport Psychology, Nutrition and Women’s Health. 

The Role 

The VIS Creator™ internship program works closely with the Founder/CEO, VIS Editorial Team, VIS™ Brand Creative Team to create content for girls and women in sport ages 13-23. The program is designed to elevate college students that are passionate about advocating for women in sport. The internship provides the opportunity to create written, visual, and/or audio content across the various VOICEINSPORT digital channels. VIS Creators™ will work on one of the following teams: 

  • Writing 
  • Graphic Design, Photo & Video (Content) 
  • Marketing & Social Media 
  • Sales/Partnerships & Community 
  • Podcast 

Commitment: 

We have 2 sessions a Year: 

  • Session #1 During School: January - July: 10 hours a week 
  • Session #2 During School: July - December: 10 hours a week, Summer: July + August: 15 hours a week. 

*This internship is in compliance with all NCAA by-laws. 

Responsibilities and Skills: 

Writing Team 

  • Write a minimum of 2 content pieces per month to be published on the VIS™ Platform.
  • Interview VIS Experts™ in specific fields to gain expertise for content creation.
  • Work with VIS™ Athletes to help them develop and write their own written content that will appear on the feed of the VOICEINSPORT Platform.
  • Attend the weekly VIS Creator™ Writing meeting. 
  • Must have experience in writing (formal or informal). 

Content Team: Marketing & Social Media Team 

  • Drive engagement on VOICEINSPORT social channels. 
  • Work in Dash Hudson to track engagement, plan and organize posts for each social account 
  • Develop ideas on how to boost engagement, create content, and have a greater presence on social media 
  • Attend the VIS Creator™ social meeting once a week. 
  • Attend the monthly VIS Creator™ meeting. 
  • Develop partnerships with leading brands to drive engagement, further advocacy initiatives and build awareness. 
  • Must be active on social media platforms, experience with keynote/ppt is preferred (Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, Twitter.) 

Podcast Team 

  • Edit audio for the Voice in Sport™ podcast. 
  • Create 1-3 ideas per episode for content extensions. 
  • Draft titles, intros, outros, and descriptions. 
  • Edit the podcast transcript for the VIS™ Platform. 
  • Reach out to professional athletes to guest on the VOICEINSPORT Podcast. 
  • Attend the monthly VIS Creator™ meeting. 
  • Identify and propose topics that girls and women in sport need to help them in their journey through sport. 
  • Produce episodes and marketing materials to promote podcasts 
  • Must have experience in writing scripts, Q&A, Run of Shows or editing software. (e.g. Descript) 

Requirements: 

  • Must be a college student (athlete or athletic experience preferred) 
  • Preferred majors: Journalism, Communication, Marketing, Digital Design, Business Administration, Sports Management, Photography, Media arts, Filmmaking, or related field of study 
  • Strong skill set in one of the following: writing, photography, videography, editing, storytelling, graphics, etc.
  • Active on social media with a clear understanding of various social and digital platforms.
  • Familiarity with Google Drive. 
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships. 
  • Strong communication skills. 
  • Strong organizational skills. 
  • Self starter. This is a start up!
