We are currently looking for qualified PRN or Part-Time Physical Therapists to join our world-class team. In this role, you will plan and administer medically prescribed and necessary physical therapy treatment for patients suffering from injuries or dysfunction of the musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiovascular, and integumentary systems and help to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent disability by performing the following duties personally or through appropriate delegation to a physical therapy assistant or a physical therapy technician.
Summary/Objective
The Occupational Therapist evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements and modifies treatment plan in accordance with the patient’s need and physician direction. Responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients. Serves as an educator of patients, families, students, co-workers and self. Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, development of discipline-specific therapy services and design of program delivery.
Essential Functions

1. Observe patients doing tasks, asks them questions, and review their medical history
2. Evaluate a patient’s condition and needs
3. Develop a treatment plan for patients, laying out the types of activities and specific goals to be accomplished
4. Demonstrate exercises – for example, joint stretches for arthritis relief – that can help relieve pain for the patients with chronic conditions
5. Educate a patient’s family and employer about how to accommodate and care for the patient
6. Assess and record patients’ activities and progress for patient evaluations, for billing, and for reporting to physicians and other healthcare providers
7. Must be able to listen attentively to what patients tell them and be able to explain what they want their patients to do. Also, educate patient with activity precautions and recommend home program
8. Have the desire to help people and improve the daily lives of others
9. Be flexible when treating patients and creative to determine the treatment plans and adaptive devices that best suit each patient’s needs
10. Develop trust and respect of patients
11. Document patient treatment and plan in chart
12. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Work Environment
This position will be in a professional clinic environment with medical office and exam/procedure rooms. Well lighted, well –ventilated, adequate space. Exposure to communicable disease and other conditions common to clinic settings.
Physical Demands
Must be able to use appropriate body mechanic techniques when making necessary patient transfers and helping patients with various exercises related to their condition and needs.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly
Visual acuity adequate to be able to read information from printed material and computer screens
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time position. Days and hours of work will vary based on availability.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
Education and Experience
1. Bachelor’s or Masters’ degree in Occupational Therapy
2. Minimum of three (3) years' experience in Occupational Therapy, preferably in the health care industry
3. National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) or South Carolina Occupational Therapy License required
4. Experience with rehabilitation service for hang, elbow and shoulder areas preferred
