Communications Website Redesign and Maintenance Program Intern (College)

THE POSITION

Are you interested in gaining hands-on experience in the exciting world of public health? The Department of Health is currently seeking applicants for a 3 to 6 month paid internship during the 2024-2025 school year, with the possibility of an extension into the summer of 2025. This opportunity is open to recent graduates or students currently enrolled in either graduate or undergraduate level academic programs in Pennsylvania. As an intern, you will have the chance to support the Bureau of Finance and Administration and gain valuable experience. If you are pursuing a degree in communications or marketing, this could be the perfect opportunity for you to further your skills and knowledge in a real-world setting. 
 

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to support the Quality Assurance Deputate, reporting to the Bureau Director Finance and Administration. Your main responsibilities will include coordinating, developing, and communicating information related to Quality Assurance websites and assisting with the evaluation, planning, and coordination of updates. You will also play a key role in the quarterly maintenance process, ensuring that all external websites meet the needs of consumers and stakeholders. You may also have the opportunity to work on special projects.

 Work Schedule and Additional Information: 

  • Part-time internship (up to 20 hours per week).
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • The worksite location will be determined at the time of hire based on the selected candidate’s home location.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in the nearest field office.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Internship Requirements:

  • Current full-time enrollment in or recent graduate of an undergraduate or graduate level program.
  • Good academic standing (as defined by a GPA of 2.0 or higher).
  • Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university.
     

Additional Requirement:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
