Information Technology Internship 2024-25 Winter

Job Summary

The Information Technology Intern position will both apply knowledge from their educational course of study and acquire knowledge through the opportunity to work on IT projects, Infrastructure Upgrades and more. Will support both department projects and resort operations though IT related troubleshooting, resolutions and documenting network, hardware and software issues.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Respond to user requests for service, troubleshoot problems and help develop solutions.
  • Support PC hardware components, desktop operating system software, and application software.
  • Perform minor repairs to equipment and arrange for other servicing needs.
  • Monitor antivirus software and updates and repair computers infected with spyware, adware and/or viruses.
  • Monitor backup systems and procedures to ensure data security.
  • Record activities, solutions and other responses to request for service in work order system.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory records and documentation for equipment.
  • Contribute to Crystal Mountain’s technical documentation and participate in policy, procedure, and standards development.
  • Provide user training for basic hardware and software use.
  • Provide backup technical support for network including router, firewall, and wireless access point.
  • Maintain open communication and positive working relationship with staff.
  • Install and maintain computer systems including software and hardware on desktops and laptops.
  • Resolve internet and network access issues (both wired and wireless) to include network printer support.
  • Conduct equipment inventory audits.
  • Determine causes of computer/software/network malfunctions through evaluation and testing and resolution via modifications, repair, or external support assistance.
  • Support projects involving technology from WiFi mapping and testing to cable management.
  • Perform other duties/projects as assigned.

Job Specifications

Competencies:

 

  • Ability to learn and support new and fast-changing technologies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, Power Point).
  • Beginner to intermediate knowledge of computer network cabling and network file and print services.
  • Intermediate knowledge of office equipment to include; computers, faxes, copiers, scanners, etc.
  • Able to analyze, interpret and present data in various formats.
  • Maintains company confidentiality at all times.
  • Must be detail oriented and possess excellent follow up skills.
  • Computer literate: Strong proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point. Adaptable to learning new and customized software programs).
  • Dedicated to exceeding service standards and providing services and standards to the highest caliber.
  • Highly organized, able to prioritize multiple tasks, have a sense of urgency to complete projects and be detail oriented.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Adapt at managing fast paced environment.
  • Clear and concise verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to abide by the company appearance standards and compliance with the designated uniform.

Education:

 

  • Must be enrolled in field related educational program.
  • Internship program requirements will need to be presented prior to internship approval.

 

Physical & Other Requirements:

 

  • While performing these job duties, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee may lift and /or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to work variable shift, weekends, holidays, and special events, as needed.
