Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group, recently voted #1 in the nation as the best large mortgage company to work for by National Mortgage News, is seeking a Risk & Compliance Intern to join our 2025 internship program.
The Risk & Compliance Intern will be responsible for rotating through the various areas of the department (Cyber Risk, Licensing, Operational Compliance, and Fair Housing) to support strategic and business initiatives. The Risk & Compliance Intern will be tasked with completing research, data compilation, analysis, and presentation of publicly available information to support the strategic and business initiatives the Regulatory Compliance function is tasked with.
The Regulatory Compliance function provides enterprise oversight, support, and advisory services to all of Atlantic Bay’s lines or business and family of financial companies. This work is focused across federal and state laws and regulations, agency guidelines, fair lending, and industry best practices.
The Summer Internship program is an opportunity for college students to gain industry related experience in a fast-paced customer focused organization. The internship program will begin May 19, 2025 and run through August 15, 2025.
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting ongoing awareness of industry best practices and regulatory requirements for independent mortgage lenders and non-bank financial institutions.
- Completing periodic and timely research and analysis as tasked focused on new and emerging laws and regulations, existing and changing laws and regulations, and industry trends.
- Completing periodic analysis of fair lending data and industry trends to support fair and responsible lending initiatives and projects.
- Compiling information as requested in presentation format.
- Supporting the Analyst team in their day-to-day work with respect to research and analysis of legal and compliance requirements.
- Supporting the Third-Party Risk Management team on various aspects of the due diligence process.
- Providing support with quarterly data scrubs for MCR and state regulatory filings.
- Assisting with NMLS research and analysis, renewals and individual filings.
What you’ll bring
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deliverables
- Strong written, oral, interpersonal skills with ability to analyze materials
- Advanced PC skills including word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications
- Ability to work up to 29 hours per week
- Currently enrolled in a form of secondary education, i.e., Trade School, College, Junior College, etc.
