Molecular Biology Intern

Overview of Position:

Streck is seeking a Molecular Biology Intern to join our Research and Development Team. This internship offers a unique opportunity for candidates to gain experience in industry science. You will primarily work with our Molecular Group, focusing on the development of products for in vitro diagnostic assays. This hands-on experience will allow you to apply your technical skills in a professional environment and gain valuable insights into various scientific disciplines.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide support to the molecular team on various research projects.
  • Assist R&D Manager in designing and executing experiments related to development or improvement of quality control products used with molecular based in vitro diagnostic tests.
  • Analyze and interpret data.
  • Summarize results in technical reports and present findings to project scientists.
  • Participate in end-of-program discussions to share your research results.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, microbiology, clinical laboratory science, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of good laboratory practice.
  • Proficiency in Excel and data processing.
  • Dependable, organized, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective task prioritization to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently with colleagues of differing backgrounds.
  • Creative thinking, strong problem-solving skills, and planning experience.
  • Prior laboratory experience with molecular biology techniques (e.g., DNA extraction, PCR, and sequencing) is a plus.

 

Work Schedule:

  • 8-hour days – Monday through Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

Dress Code Requirements:

  • Casual – jeans and t-shirt
  • Dedicated Shoes

Pay Per Hour:  S4

Number of Positions Available: 1

Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Medium work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 5 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 5 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
