Comcast Construction Project Management Intern (West Division)

Organization & Team Overview

Comcast’s Network and Connectivity Team works together to deliver the speed, capabilities, scalability and reliability of our network – the largest gig-speed network in the U.S.

The Engineering and Construction team is at the forefront of connecting our customers to our services. The construction team is focused on building our network into new and existing areas to enable the products and services our customers need. As part of this team, you will be partnering with internal departments and external partners to help design and build our infrastructure.

Role Description

Are you passionate about managing projects focused on reducing costs, meeting schedules and driving operational efficiencies?

As a project management Intern on the construction team, you will be working with a team of seasoned professionals to help manage infrastructure deployment projects to fuel the expansion of the Comcast network to new customers in the Midwest region.

You will with leaders within the construction team to come up with ways to organize and implement large scale construction projects with a focus on efficiency and process improvement. You will have a chance to work with other internal departments as well as external business partners. You will learn about construction practices, project management, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Helping manage straight-forward to moderately complex construction projects through entire project lifecycle (inception, approval, planning, execution, and closeout) and coordinate technical aspects of projects (design, development, integration and test, trial and deployment).
  • Help initiate, facilitate, and monitor specific intradepartmental and cross-functional construction project progress and performance to assure quality and on time delivery Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Work in the field to ensure the execution of all construction activities including but not limited to: place hard-line cables, frame and strand poles, transfer facilities between poles, place cable in joint trench, and ensure safe operation of construction vehicles and cable trailers. 
  • Oversee the activity of business partners and/or subcontractors.​
  • Report on project's progress and updating database (P2) as required by project, internal/external partners, and the senior leadership team. ​
  • Identify and manage critical path and risk areas and create risk response and mitigation plans while QCing end to end project.​
  • Report weekly (or as necessary) on any risks/issues.​
  • Solve issues as required to unblock open issues working with both internal and external partners and leadership. ​
  • Work with other project managers to track and manage inter-project/domain dependencies.​
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.​
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. ​
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a United States-based college or university
  • Rising Junior only (must have a graduation date between Winter 2026 - Spring 2027)
  • Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship (meaning, student must be returning to school for Fall 2025 semester before graduating)
  • Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program- June 2 through August 15, 2025
  • Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs
  • Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting (unless virtual offering). -RELOCATION EXPENSE IS NOT COVERED.
