Comcast Field Operations Intern (West Division)

This program immerses students into the daily operation of a contemporary media and technology company while working side-by-side with Comcast’s top innovators. The student becomes an integral part of the Comcast team working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units.

Organization & Team Overview

Pacific Northwest Field Operations organization works to support a team of just under 1000 installation, repair, and network technicians and leaders to provide services to residential and business customers. The team leads employee communication and engagement efforts including meetings and events, analytics for the Technical Operations teams, and business partner resourcing. We support the team drive culture, reliability and execution excellence while supporting growth initiatives.

The team of 11 employees works strategically with region, division and headquarters stakeholders. The intern would be managed by our Manager of Field Operations.

Role Description

As a Field Operations Intern, you will have an opportunity to assist with communications & events planning & execution, document and provide recommendations to improve a process that impacts customer experience and/or financial results.

What are some interesting problems the student will work on?

In your role, you will partner with stakeholders and teammates to prepare for frontline & leadership meetings and one or more employee events. With support from key leaders, you will document one or more processes that we’d like to improve. We will be looking for a fresh perspective to provide recommendations to improve employee or customer experience, speed to execution, or identify financial savings opportunities. You will research best practices from other Comcast regions to see if they could be implemented in the Pacific Northwest and scope the impact of the initiative.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with the planning & execution of employee engagement meetings & events and performance improvement meetings.
  • Assisting with the research, documentation, and recommendations of a process improvement effort.
  • Assisting with employee communication development and editing.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Ability to ask for help if they are stuck, don’t understand or need support.
  • Reporting/SQL experience not required but would be valued
  • Want to work hard and have fun!
  • Preferred Majors: Business, Communications, Finance, Project Management or related fields


     

Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a United States-based college or university
  • Rising Junior only (must have a graduation date between Winter 2026- Spring 2027)
    Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship (meaning, student must be returning to school for Fall 2025 semester before graduating)
  • Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program- June 2 through August 15, 2025
  • Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs
    Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting (unless virtual offering). -RELOCATION EXPENSE IS NOT COVERED.

    Field Ops Team reminders:
  • Document and review a process and identify process improvement opportunities (Low Voltage, Drop Bury Communication)
  • XH False alarms: Create a macro that tracks all XH false alarms that can then inform the customer from a billing standpoint. Some Regions such as California already have an active version of this in place. There could be a significant cost savings associated to this as well.
  • Heavy Install Process enhancement: Partner with the WD-SRL team to develop some type of communication platform that does not require back and forth emails on every job. Heavy Install emails make up for approximately 30-40% of all generated emails on a daily basis and require a lot of time in order to stay up to speed. These emails hit several different people on a repeated bases.
