Comcast Planning & Design Engineering Intern (West Division)

Organization & Team Overview

Works directly with the West Division Pre-Construction Planning Team. This includes working with and supporting the Comcast WD SLT, Comcast Construction, Business, Sales Teams, GIS and Operations teams. Our innovative teams are continually developing and delivering reporting solutions that transform the business and customer experience.  

The West Divison Pre-Construction Planning Team is a team of talented and skilled Engineers that provide support sales teams with cost and designs.

 

Role Description

Looking for individual that is passionate, data driven and highly motivated around GIS analytics & Engineering solutions. This includes bringing ideas, problem solving and working through challenges. This is a great opportunity to be involved with solutions that have a direct impact on driving Comcast business.

Working with the GIS team to determine better more dynamic ways for Sales teams to obtain opportunities.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

  • Participate in the design of broadband communication systems using various design software packages.  
  • Produces layout designs for coaxial and fiber placement and fiber routing and connectivity.  
  • Verifies that designs are in adherence to regional hybrid fiber coax (HFC) architecture and design specifications and processes HFC span replacements.  
  • Assists in conducting analysis to determine efficiency, equipment economy, and systems operation simplicity.  
  • Prepares prints, special maps, key maps, graphs, diagrams, and graphic drawings for use by other departments.  
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a United States-based college or university  
  • Rising Junior only (must have a graduation date between Winter 2026 - Spring 2027)  
  • Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship (meaning, student must be returning to school for Fall 2025 semester before graduating)
  • Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program- June 2 through August 15, 2025
  • Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs
  • Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting (unless virtual offering). -RELOCATION EXPENSE IS NOT COVERED.
