Engineering College Intern 1/2/3/4

The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Southcoast Region Construction is looking for four engineering College Interns 1/2/3/4 in Juneau to help us Keep Alaska Moving!

What you will be doing:

Under the direction of a Construction Project Manager, the College Intern will be assigned to active Regional Capital Improvement Projects in their Construction Phase and for them to act as a Construction Inspector, Materials Technician, Stormwater Compliance Inspector, and/or an Office Engineer. In this role you would be assigned to an active project and be onsite with other project team members to inspect work and document Plan and Specification Conformance to support payments to a Contractor. The selected candidate will be assigned to a Highway Construction Project within the region.

This position will be in travel status on an active project in Haines or Ketchikan. You will work in a collaborative environment with a small team of experienced and supportive colleagues that will help you develop your skills, gain career applicable experience and learn about construction of Capital Improvement Projects.  Skills learned during your internship will greatly benefit your engineering career!
