Child Care Teacher 

A quality childcare teacher will teach, play, and supervise preschool-aged children daily and support their development. 

Responsibilities

• Provide basic care and caregiving activities 

• Use a wide range of teaching methods (stories, indoor or outdoor games, drawing etc.) to enhance the child’s abilities 

• Participate in positive communication with parents and preschool staff update them on the strengths and needs of their children 

• Observe children’s interactions and promote positive social emotional learning 

• Identify behavioral problems and determine the right course of action 

• Collaborate with colleagues 

• Adhere with teaching standards and safety regulations as established by the state of Iowa and Indianola Preschool 

Skills

• Proven experience as a childcare / daycare teacher 

• Knowledge of child development and up-to-date education methods 

• Methodical and creative 

• Patience, flexibility, and love for children 

• Strong communication and time management skills 

• Have a positive attitude 

Requirements:

Must be able to meet all DHS requirements, including annual trainings and criminal background check 

Ability to obtain a certificate in first aid and CPR, provided by Indianola Preschool

Experience working with young children preferred. 

Pay

• Determined by education and experience.  Range is $15.00 - $17.50

Hours

• Shifts available- Monday -Friday 3:00-5:15pm
