STARTING SALARY RANGE:
$78,254.00 - $87,057.00 annually dependent on qualifications. The salary range for this position is $78,254.00 - $113,468.00

This position manages the implementation of a variety of capital and operational projects related to village buildings, performs technical reviews of engineering and architectural designs, manages professional consulting agreements to provide project design and construction services, and is responsible for reviewing plans to ensure compliance with village standards.
JOB DUTIES:
1. Manages all phases of building-related public improvement projects, including planning for needed improvements, design and approval of plans and specifications, project bidding, and construction implementation.
2. Identifies and recommends the scope of work needed for building improvement projects. Completes planning-level construction cost estimates and prepares budget requests based on project priorities and fundingavailability.
3. Hires and manages consultants to perform design, construction administration, and other related services through the Village’s existing policies and procedures.
4. Coordinates with the Finance Department to compile plans and specifications for competitive bidding. Reviews received bids and makes recommendations for award of contract.
5. Oversees construction management of village building improvement projects to ensure quality, timeliness, and completion within budget. Coordinates all construction activity with internal stakeholders.
6. Coordinates design of building projects with the building occupants, Building Division, and end-users. Reviews plans and specifications to ensure compliance with village standards, codes, and needs in a cost-effective manner.
7. Works with other departments to secure necessary village building permits.
8. Prepares committee reports and presents these reports at village committee meetings as required or as directed by the Facility Division Manager or the Director of Engineering and Public Works.
9. Provides technical advice and assistance to village staff and recommends necessary solutions or repairs.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in architecture, architectural engineering, construction management, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
2. A minimum of three years of experience managing municipal building projects including HVAC equipment maintenance or replacement, building repair and general maintenance, roofing inspection and repair, andelectrical systems.
3. Possession of a valid driver’s license.
4. Proficiency with current computer technology, job-specific software, and customer service systems.
