Backend Engineer Intern

Job Title: Backend Engineer Intern
Location: New Jersey (Remote)
Duration: 4 - 8 months
Pay: _______

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Database Management:
    • Write Python scripts and SQL queries to maintain and optimize our MySQL database.
    • Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues.
  2. AWS Automation:
    • Use AWS tools and services to automate database population and management tasks.
    • Implement serverless solutions for scalability and efficiency.
  3. Data Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure high data quality by designing and implementing validation processes.
    • Identify and resolve data inconsistencies and anomalies.
  4. API Testing and Development:
    • Write and execute tests for backend APIs to ensure robustness and reliability.
    • Collaborate with the team to improve API performance and usability.

 

Requirements:

  1. Technical Skills:
    • Experience with Python programming and SQL.
    • Knowledge of MySQL or similar relational databases.
    • Familiarity with algorithms and data structures.
  2. AI Integration:
    • Ability to prompt ChatGPT or similar LLMs to enhance productivity and iterate on codebases efficiently.
  3. Problem-Solving:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to tackle technical challenges.
  4. Adaptability:
    • Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  5. Project Experience:
    • Proven interest and experience in building side projects (include links to GitHub or portfolio, if available).

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Cloud Services:
    • Knowledge of AWS, GCP, or other cloud platforms is a plus.
  2. Version Control:
    • Familiarity with Git for version control and collaboration.
  3. CI/CD Practices:
    • Understanding of continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
