Personal Trainers or Exercise Physiologists

THPRD Fitness is seeking qualified Personal Trainers (PT) or Exercise Physiologists (EP) primarily responsible for planning and providing personal training services by developing exercise prescriptions and programs for patrons. In addition, the PT/EP may be responsible for planning, instructing, and leading a variety of group fitness classes dependent upon their certifications and specializations.
 
Instructors at THPRD prioritize patron safety by tailoring programs to individual skill levels and abilities. They also foster a positive and inclusive community atmosphere, providing encouragement and support throughout each patron's fitness journey.
 
Job Opening:
Personal Trainers or Exercise Physiologists
Personal Training sessions and/or group fitness classes are conducted both indoors and outdoors at our exceptional recreation centers and picturesque parks. These sessions cater to the diverse community, welcoming individuals of all ages, abilities, backgrounds, and interests. As such, our team members must possess the ability to address individual needs while effectively managing group dynamics.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Plan and provide personal training services by developing exercise prescriptions and programs for patrons.
  • Plan, instruct, and lead a variety of group fitness classes based on certifications and specializations.
  • Ensure a safe exercise environment by demonstrating and promoting safe exercise techniques.
  • Encourage and foster a positive community among patrons.
  • Adhere to THPRD policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current certification required (ACE, ACSM, NASM, ISSA, etc.)
  • Current CPR, First Aid, AED certification, or willing to obtain/renew upon hire
  • 2+ years' experience training/instructing
  • Experience working with a diverse population

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual: ASL, Spanish (pay incentive)
  • Experience working with individuals whose first language is not English, or
  • Experience in Sports Performance/Strength & Conditioning with youth/teen athletes
  • Experience working directly with special populations such as individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), individuals with medically controlled diseases, individuals needing adaptive equipment

Scheduling:
Staff are typically scheduled 2 to 29 hours per week; between 6:00 AM - 9:00 PM throughout the week, including Saturdays and Sundays. Part-time employees are scheduled variable hours and may work less than 1,560 hours per year. Primarily seeking evening and weekend availability.
