Automation Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop PLC and HMI applications to meet specifications (primarily using Codesys and Ignition)
  • Plans, evaluates, organizes and implements automation related projects
  • Reviews design efforts from production team to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Troubleshoot issues with existing installations
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade legacy code

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
  • At least 5 years experience in automation engineering
  • Experience with industrial networks and communication protocols (e.g., Modbus TCP/IP, OPC UA, J1939)
  • Experience interfacing with MCCs, VFDs, soft starts, and motors
  • Familiarity with hydraulic or pneumatic systems is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects, prioritize tasks, and manage timelines effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to project sites for site evaluations and construction support.
