Financial Analyst

Summary of Position:

The Financial Analyst is expected to perform full monthly closing activities.  This candidate will have full GL responsibility including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations and detailed analysis.  This candidate is fully responsible for all actual BPC reporting on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.  In addition, the position will include assisting the Controller on Financial Planning and Analysis related to monthly trends, budget and strategy requirements.    

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all accounting transactions and reporting.  Full GL responsibility.
  • Prepares monthly pro forma Profit and Loss Statements.  Summarize and post reports to General Ledger for month end closing.  Prepare Profit and Loss Statement and Balance Sheet for month end closing and other reports as required.  Provide managerial assistance and analysis.
  • Prepare annual audit schedules and provide all other information required to complete the year-end financial close.
  • Load data to Corporate monthly/quarterly (BPC).
  • Report daily revenue, scrap, productivity and absorption analysis.
  • Results/achievement oriented with strong interpersonal/communication skills.
  • Prepare and maintain standard costing in Paradigm.
  • Accumulate and apply overhead costs as required by generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Work with the MRB to locate and dispose of obsolete inventory.
  • Accurately value on hand inventory per GAAP and reconcile monthly inventory to the general ledger.
  • Assist in preparing inter-company transactions of fixed assets, equipment leases, cash collection and warranties.
  • Report production efficiencies and analyze impact on absorption.
  • Explain manufacturing variances and track manufacturing expenses.
  • Responsible for any ad-hoc reports including tracking keep trends on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.
  • Assist with monthly Forecast, annual Strategy and Budget requirements.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Requirements: (Work Experience, Education, Certifications, Licenses)

  • Bachelors' Degree in accounting finance required.
  • Must have 5 – 7 years account experience in a manufacturing environment including standard costing.
  • 5 plus years General Accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of integrated manufacturing systems and MRP.  Knowledge of Paradigm a plus.
  • Strong inventory knowledge in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize multiple projects and activities.
  • Strong cost system background with excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong work ethic with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP
  • Demonstrated high attention to detail.
