Revenue Cycle Intern

Job Summary

The Revenue Cycle Intern Program at Corewell Health is a paid, full-time, summer internship focused on the operations of Michigan’s largest health system. The Revenue Cycle is responsible for ensuring that healthcare providers receive accurate and timely reimbursement for the services they provide. This involves managing the entire financial process from patient registration and scheduling, insurance verification, claims submission, patient billing, to collections. Interns will explore various aspects of the Revenue Cycle, participating in projects that make a real impact across the system and the state. This internship program focuses on Corewell Health’s commitment to career progression and the development of internal talent to become future leaders in healthcare.

Essential Functions

  • Attend department or project meetings to gain understanding and take notes as needed.
  • Assist with daily tasks that support various functional areas of the Revenue Cycle.
  • Maintains accountability for completing support tasks as directed.
  • Ensures clear and appropriate documentation of actions taken.
  • Analyzes department processes and other Corewell Health systems encountered, making recommendations for improvements as appropriate.
  • Communicates, collaborates, and acts as a team player with others to ensure continuity and coordination of services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Currently enrolled in a university pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in area of accountability. May also be a recent graduate from an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program.
