Executive Chef

We are seeking an experienced and talented Executive Chef with high-volume dining, high-end catering experience for an exclusive private boarding school campus in East Hampton, MA.
At SAGE, our chefs and culinary teams are highly skilled professionals who excel in creating exceptional dishes. Our menus, crafted from scratch by our chefs, showcase local and regional ingredients, flavors, and culinary styles. With our advanced cooking methods and innovative recipe development, every dining experience is truly unique.
Our managers are essential to culinary operations. Their responsibilities extend beyond menu design to include team hiring and management, ordering, inventory control, and talent development. This holistic approach ensures that every aspect of the dining experience, from menu conceptualization to execution and team management, is well-coordinated and aligned with our high standards of service.

This is a seven day a week operation, so the schedule would include at least one weekend day. This is a management salaried year-round position.
Salary Range: $72,000.00 -$75,000.00 Salary

What you'll do:
- Plan cycle menus and lead daily production (hands on).
- Enforce safety protocols and lead by example.
- Deliver an outstanding example of customer service to your team and to the community we serve.
- Manage ordering and inventory.
- Deliver incredible catering events rivaling 5 star restaurants.
- Participate in the interviewing, hiring, training and ongoing mentoring of the team.
- Participate in general location management with the Food Service management team.
What you'll need:
- Customer service skills
- High end catering and high-volume banquet experience.
- Substantial culinary knowledge: trends, techniques, and processes.
- Menu planning and production experience.
- Minimum five years culinary experience.
- Minimum five years managing others in the kitchen.
- Ability to lead, not manage others and to mentor the team.
- Desire to mentor the team and lift others to continue a culture of extreme ownership.
- Happy disposition, both for community and team interactions.
- Awesome references and solid resume.
- Current ServSafe® certification, as well as local health department certification, where required.
