Benefits Administrator
A Benefits Administrator may be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Process and ensure accuracy of employee benefits eligibility and enrollment.
- Educate and communicate with employees regarding their employee benefits.
- Oversee administration for benefit management system.
- Coordinate communication between Company, Insurance Consultant, and Carrier partners.
- Assist with preparation and processing of annual compliance reporting, such as 1095-C, SAR, 5500, and W2.
- Conduct regular audits between benefit management, payroll, and carrier systems.
- Oversee retiree eligibility and ensure proper processing of retiree benefits.
- Responsible for preparation and coordination of open enrollment efforts companywide.
Education and Experience:
The following is preferred:
- Professional Human Resources or Benefits Certifications (PHR / SHRM / CEBS).
- Prior experience with employee benefits.
The following is required:
- High School Diploma, or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in Human Resources.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- General knowledge and understanding of insurance benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), and Health Savings Accounts (HSA).
- Service oriented and willing to help others.
- The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Proficient with and enjoy detailed work.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Required to operate and be proficient with personal computers. This will include, but not be limited to, Word processing, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Strong Excel skills including, but not limited to, creating and formatting spreadsheets, using formulas and functions to manage large datasets (IF, SUM, INDEX, MATCH, VLOOKUP), and create charts/graphs.
Physical Requirements:
(S)he will be required to sit and stand for long periods of time. (S)he will be required to stoop, bend, and reach above the head and below the knees to file and retrieve data (please refer to essential job functions for a more detailed breakdown of physical requirements).
Other:
(S)he must have the ability to travel for multiple days, travel is estimated at 5%, or less. This position may require overtime hours to complete the responsibilities.
The Benefits Administrator is an hourly position and reports to the Human Resources Generalist.
