Staff Accountant - Great Lakes Recovery Centers - Negaunee, Michigan
Great Lakes Recovery Centers (GLRC) seek a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their finance team in Negaunee, Michigan. In this role, you’ll work alongside our CFO and Controller, contributing to financial planning, analysis, and reporting, as well as collaborate with various departments, including Accounts Payable, Receivables, and Billing, for a holistic view of our financial processes.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.
- Prepare and compile monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Record, verify, and consolidate entries related to assets, liabilities, revenue, and expenses.
- Reconcile bank accounts and manage cash deposits, coordinating with the CFO for approvals.
- Support internal and external audits, gathering and organizing relevant data.
- Maintain/reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accurate entries for cash receipts and monthly transactions.
- Work with billing, accounts receivable, and grant-tracking teams to ensure smooth operations and accurate data management.
- Assist in tracking and reporting expenditures related to grants and other financial initiatives.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
- Associate degree or technical certificate in accounting required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 2 or more years of hands-on accounting experience required with working knowledge in bookkeeping and automated accounting systems.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to work independently.
- Proficiency under pressure with a results-oriented approach.
- Excellent communication skills, with an ability to establish rapport with external agencies.
