POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Robins & Morton Co-op/Intern will provide assistance to our project teams while gaining valuable work experience in building construction and learning R&M culture and processes.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job)
• Assist project team to ensure project is constructed on time, within budget and per plans and specifications.
• Survey for civil and structural layout using a transit and/or total station.
• Interior layout including partitions, MEP devices, OFE and reflected ceiling plans
• Assist with all QC procedures per R&M’s P&P manual and as needed by the project.
• Assist with drawing and specification updates.
• Perform all duties assigned by Robins & Morton Superintendent and/or Foreman.
• Learn, understand and enforce R&M’s employment policies
• Assist in administering and enforcing Robins & Morton and Owner Infection Control Plan.
• Monitor and enforce jobsite cleanup.
• Monitor and enforce quality control. Develop and work off all punch lists. Check pre-construction and post-construction lists in each sequence.
• Monitor and enforce jobsite security.
• Assist with Jobsite Safety. Participate in weekly safety meetings and help with weekly site safety walks. Correct any observed violations immediately.
• Assist handling, storage and installation of Owner Furnished Equipment and Furniture.
• Assist Project Manager with closeout documentation.
• Contribute to the overall team effort by maintaining positive relations with Owner, Owner Representatives and Designers.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:

• Currently majoring in Building Science or Construction Management (or comparable degree) maintaining at least a 2.25 GPA while in school and demonstrating good academic achievement.
• Preferably, some construction experience.
OTHER RELEVANT INFORMATION:
This position is Non-Exempt and is subject to overtime pay.
This position is assigned to jobsite locations.
Travel/relocation is required.
This position reports to the R&M Manager assigned by the R&M Superintendent.
• Good written and oral communications.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of trade partners and/or R&M team members.
• Advanced analytical and reading skills.
• Ability to work effectively with team members & trade partners.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs.
• Preferably, experience with additional construction related technology programs for scheduling, modeling, billing, etc.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, trigonometry and geometry.
• Use of basic reasoning and ability to resolve issues quickly with little or no direction.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule format.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
