Staff Accountant
We are looking to hire a staff accountant who will play a crucial role in the financial management and reporting of MyLand financials. The staff accountant will report directly to the Senior Technical Accountant in the Phoenix corporate headquarters.

Responsibilities
- Financial Record Keeping: Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and other accounting documents.
- Reconciliation: Perform bank reconciliations to ensure that financial records align with actual financial transactions.
- Accounts Payable: Process invoices, track expenses, and ensure timely payments to vendors and suppliers. Verify and reconcile vendor statements.
- Accounts Receivable: Manage customer invoices, monitor accounts receivable, and follow up on outstanding payments. Record cash receipts accurately.
- Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries to record financial transactions and adjustments accurately.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, on a regular basis.
- Expense Reporting: Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Budget Support: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts. Assist in the monitoring of budget-to-actual variances and report discrepancies.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulations, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Assist with financial audits and provide necessary documentation.
- Taxation: Assist with the preparation of tax returns and ensure timely filing and compliance with tax regulations.
- Documentation: Maintain organized and well-documented financial records, ensuring they are easily accessible for audits or inquiries.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize accounting software and spreadsheets (e.g. NetSuite, Excel) to perform financial tasks efficiently.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the accounting and finance team and cross-functional departments to provide financial support and information.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and analysis.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and meet deadlines.
