KVIA-TV Anchor/Multimedia Journalist:

We are seeking an anchor/multimedia journalist to join our team. The El Paso/Las Cruces market is at the epicenter of major humanitarian, economic and national security news & events. The ideal candidate will be a versatile professional with a strong on-air presence, exceptional storytelling abilities, and a keen understanding of multimedia journalism. 

Responsibilities: 

· Anchor news broadcast with professionalism, energy, and authority. 

· Write, produce, shoot, edit and deliver compelling news stories for on-air and digital platforms. 

· Conduct thorough research and interviews to gather accurate information for news reporting. 

· Collaborate with the news team to develop innovative story ideas and coverage plans. 

· Utilize social media platforms to engage with the audience and promote news content. 

· Adhere to strict journalistic standards, ethics, and guidelines in all reporting endeavors. 

· Stay updated on current events, trends, and developments to ensure comprehensive news coverage. 

  

Qualifications: 

· Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field preferred. 

· Strong on-air presence and excellent communication skills. 

· Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro) and multimedia production tools. 

· Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced news environment. 

· Demonstrated knowledge of AP style, news writing principles, and storytelling techniques. 

· Flexibility to work early morning shifts and adapt to changing schedules. 

· Must pass a pre-employment background check, MVR check, drug screening and possess a valid driver license.
