Accountant II
Job description

Position: Capstone Community Action fulfills its mission through programming funded by various sources, including public grants and contracts. Capstone’s Finance team is seeking an Accountant II to coordinate and perform budget development, monitoring, reporting, and compliance oversight for designated programs, as well as general support to the Finance function. This administrative role contributes to Capstone’s mission and supports programs by working to ensure that complex grant and contract reporting, and compliance requirements are met.
Qualifications: Education and work experience requirements for the Accountant II include a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration, or equivalent work experience, and 3+ years’ general ledger, grants management, and financial reporting experience.
Additional qualifications include:
· Experience working in a nonprofit organization, and work with federal and state awards (preferred).
· Proficiency with Excel; experience with Sage/Intacct and ADP Workforce Now (preferred).
· Knowledge of accounting principles and grant accounting.
· Knowledge of OMB Uniform Guidance.
· Understanding of budget processes, including generating, creating, and analyzing budget reports.
· Outstanding organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and a compliance orientation.
Compensation & Benefits: This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position with a Monday-Friday schedule, offering an annualized salary of $70,000 and generous paid time off, insurance, and retirement plan benefits.
