
Civil Rights Investigator
The mission of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Office of Compliance Civil Rights Unit is to provide an independent service designed to add value and improve the Department’s compliance with equal employment opportunity (EEO) requirements and workplace violence prevention (WVP) activities.
We are committed to helping the Department accomplish its mission and strategic objectives by bringing a disciplined approach to investigations of discrimination and workplace violence allegations. We facilitate CDPH’s EEO and WVP programs and associated activities to ensure CDPH complies with all federal and state laws for its internal business practices.
This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment free from all forms of discrimination and harassment. The Civil Right Unit (CRU) processes and investigates discrimination and workplace violence complaints.
Under the direction of the Civil Rights Unit manager, Staff Services Manager (SSM) I, within the Office of Compliance (OOC), the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) independently performs a broad range of analytical, administrative, technical, and program functions associated with complex, and time-critical duties related to CDPH’s Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Workplace Violence Prevention (WVP) Programs. The AGPA is responsible for ensuring CDPH complies with all Federal and State laws for its internal business practices and activities. The AGPA performs varied and complex analytical assignments related to the planning, organization, implementation, evaluation, and the overall effectiveness of CDPH’s EEO and WVP programs.
