Project Manager (licensing)

ROLE OVERVIEW

 

As a Project Manager specializing in licensed product development, you will oversee and coordinate all aspects of the project timelines to ensure timely and efficient completion. You will manage licensor submissions and approvals, communicate critical updates to cross-functional teams, and work closely with operations to maintain accurate schedules. Additionally, you will track milestones, provide regular status updates, and ensure all products meet licensor requirements before shipment. Your role will involve close collaboration with licensors and internal teams to resolve any issues and keep projects on track.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for overseeing all licensed project product development timelines to ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient fashion. 
  • Manages all licensor submissions and approvals across several licensor platforms and communicates necessary information directly with the design, product development, packaging, and marketing teams.
  • Elevates any specific licensed schedule concerns, need for rush requests, or need for email follow-up to the Product Manager to address with the licensor.
  • Works with operations to ensure account-specific licensed product schedules are accurate.
  • Plans and designates project resources, prepares schedules, monitors progress, and keeps stakeholders informed.
  • Logs all working files, submission/approval timing, and licensor feedback in milestone tracking system, Wrike.
  • Responsible for providing status updates during weekly milestone meetings on all licensed projects.
  • Files all licensed final product documentation and packaging files on the server.
  • Enters licensed product information such as product and packaging dimensions into the database, NetSuite. 
  • Ensures all licensed products have approval before first ship dates.
  • Participates in biweekly calls with licensors to discuss project statuses and work through any sticking points, questions, or schedule implications. 
  • Participates in product development meetings with the Product Manager to ensure licensed products are on brand and adhere to specifications set in the marketing concept definitions.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS Project Management or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years’ experience working in consumer product development
  • Ability to move fast and be proactive
  • High attention to detail and accuracy 
  • Prior experience using Project Management Software
