Logistics and Supply Chain Intern

Introduction:
Ohio Tool Work, LLC, a leader in honing tool manufacturing, is offering an exciting internship opportunity in our Supply Chain Department. This role provides hands-on experience in managing supply chain processes at a small, dynamic manufacturing company. The intern will gain exposure to supply chain logistics, inventory management, procurement, and production planning in a high-quality manufacturing environment.

 

Position Overview: 

When:                    Single semester with potential extension to academic year

Hours:                    Flexible, 15–20 hours per week, to be coordinated based on academic schedule

Location:              Primarily onsite at Ohio Tool Work’s facility in Ashland, OH

Pay:                        $16–17 per hour (eligible for academic credit if requirements met)

 

Description:
The Supply Chain Intern will play a key role in supporting various functions within the supply chain. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with inventory management, cycle counts, and organization of materials
  • Supporting the purchasing team by researching, organizing, and documenting supplier RFQs
  • Aiding in the coordination of materials flow from suppliers to production to ensure timely manufacturing
  • Participating in supplier and vendor meetings to gain exposure to vendor relations and negotiations
  • Preparing and analyzing data to support supply chain decision-making and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Assisting with scheduling and planning tasks, including updating schedules and tracking delivery times
  • Maintaining databases related to inventory, procurement, and production activities

 

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Proficient in Excel; familiarity with inventory management or ERP software is a plus
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving

 

Deadline:
