 Surface Materials Inc. is a distributor of interior design products that was established over 40 years ago and has been growing ever since. Surface Materials Inc. also satisfactorily meets the requirements set forth by the Ohio Administrative Code as a Women-owned Business Enterprise Program and serves the interior design community as a trusted resource for supplying quality commercial interior finish products including: Wallcoverings Floorings Architectural Laminates Wood Veneers Wall Panel Systems Digital/Scalable Wall Designs Acoustical Panel Systems Acoustical Products 

Note: In-person interviews will be conducted on Feb. 28, 2025, at West and Metro. These interview fairs are your only opportunity to meet and interview with hiring supervisors.

Surface Materials is looking for an intern who is dedicated, enthusiastic, and a quick learner. You will work closely with our graphic designer/ marketing person. We are looking for someone who has an interest in email marketing and has strong layout abilities. As an intern you will help create future social media (Instagram. Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Facebook) posts, and help create marketing emails to customers. You will also create fliers, books, pamphlets or presentations. You will get the opportunity to learn more about the design world and gain some real-world experience.  You will also get the opportunity to learn about website migrations and design as we are going to be migrating from one website platform to another and have over 13,000 items!

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience of graphic design 
  • 1-2 years of experience in Adobe Cloud Apps (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects)
  •  Interest in Social Media 
  • Interest in marketing 
  • Motivated 
  • Quick Learner Preferred Qualifications/Skills 
  • Interest in Interior Design is a plus

Program Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in current semester (Spring 2025)
  • Must enroll in a minimum of one Summer 2025 course
  • Must be returning to Tri-C for Fall 2025 Semester
  • Must have a declared major on record

This position is part of the Cuyahoga Community College Summer Internship Program.
