Overview of Dept/Division:

There are 3 groups within Vendor Relations: Vendor Performance, Procurement Accountability and Inspections & Testing, tasked with determining if a vendor is responsible to be considered for as an MTA vendor - based on its business experience & stability, past performance & technical ability, financial condition, moral integrity & ethics, and its safety record.

Project Responsibilities:
Summarize the assignment of the intern in 2-3 sentences.
The Procurement Accountability group within the Vendor Relations Unit (VRU) works with Microsoft Access to assign and track the progress of Audits (MTA, City, State, Federal) and Freedom of Information Law Requests (FOILS). An intern who is proficient in Access and who will be able to develop new queries as required and to assist in editing existing queries to fit VRUs current needs will enable VRU to provide reports to upper management on metrics and efficiency of response.

The MTA Vendor Relations Unit is requesting one college aide to perform the following responsibilities :
1. Edit and develop queries for canned reports
2. Create uniformity and eliminate duplicate names
3. Organizing all electronic folders for easy retrieval of documents
4. Test reporting integrity and data quality to aid in providing accurate data to management.

Special Qualifications or Background Needed:

College student majoring in Computer Information Systems, Project Management or a Business-Related field.
This role is open to both undergraduate and graduate students.
Strong knowledge Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office products particularly demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Access.
Knowledge of SQL is a plus.
Strong communication skills required.
