Overview of Dept/Division:
There are 3 groups within Vendor Relations: Vendor Performance, Procurement Accountability and
Inspections & Testing, tasked with determining if a vendor is responsible to be considered for as an
MTA vendor - based on its business experience & stability, past performance & technical ability,
financial condition, moral integrity & ethics, and its safety record.

Assignment Description:
The Vendor Relations Unit (VRU) works with Microsoft Access and Power (BI) to: 1) receive and track evaluations received from project managers of a contractor/suppliers performance on an
operating contract or purchase order via a VENDEVAL form, 2) assign and track the progress of Vendor Background Checks, Audits (MTA, City, State, Federal) and Freedom of Information Law
Requests (FOILS). The intern will primarily focus on the current process of obtaining VENDEVAL forms and assist in standing up the automated system for VENDEVAL within The Archer System as
VENDEVAL is currently a manual system. An intern who is proficient in Access and Power (BI) and is able to outreach to project managers on a daily basis is required.

Project Responsibilities:
Intern will mainly focus on performing the following functions in support of the VENDEAL project:
1. Provide daily statistics to supervisor resulting from the outreach to project managers
2. Provide weekly status reports to management of project status
3. Assist in standing up VENDEVAL from a manual to an automated system within the TPRM/ARCHER system.
Development:
1. Intern will be applying knowledge and skills that will be used on the job including technical
competencies in his or her field of study.
2. Work in a structured environment, learn how to support a team and meet deadlines.
3. Complete assignments in a timely manner and give feedback as needed
4. Learn the various business practices used in a large and complex organization

Assignment Duties:
The MTA Vendor Relations Unit is requesting one college aide to perform the following responsibilities to assist in competing the VENDEVAL project(s)
1. Outreach to project managers to obtain outstanding 2022 and 2023 VENDEVAL evaluations
2. Create uniformity and eliminate duplication of data
3. Receipt and organizing the electronic folders for easy retrieval of evaluations by Staff
4. Provide weekly status reports to management of project status
5. Test reporting integrity and data quality to aid in providing accurate data to management.
6. Assist in supporting the Access Databases, used by Vendor performance and Procurement Accountability, as time permits

Special Qualifications or Background Needed:

College student majoring in Computer Information Systems, Project Management or a Business
Related field.
Strong knowledge of power (BI), Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office products particularly
demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Access. Knowledge of SQL is a plus. Strong
communication skills required.
