R&D Software Engineering Intern
Essential Duties
- Assist the R&D team in software script development, data collection, and generation of reports
- Perform integration testing of new software releases
- Assist internal teams in researching different equipment/ processes from the initial idea to bring the processes in-house
- Verify that designs meet functional requirements through the performance of engineering analyses and testing
- Utilize common laboratory test equipment to establish relevant bench and animal testing models; Perform hands-on software, mechanical, optical, and electrical testing as needed
- Analyze test data using statistical tools, perform in-depth interpretation of results, and generate detailed technical reports
- Occasionally travel to clinical sites for device installation or maintenance
Required Skills
- Enrolled in an accredited 4-year university/college in an engineering discipline
- Experience with Python
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Flexibility, adaptability, pragmatism, responsiveness, and collegiality
- Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
- Ability to work in a start-up environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Desirable Skills
- Experience using SQL
- Experience using electrical equipment such as oscilloscopes
- Knowledge of image processing
- Previous technical internship/co-op experience
- Familiarity with medical device development and optical systems
