SIP 2025 - IT Support (ITS) Technician Intern (Off Campus) at Cleveland Public Library

Note: In-person interviews will be conducted on Feb. 28, 2025, at West and Metro. These interview fairs are your only opportunity to meet and interview with hiring supervisors.

As an IT Support (ITS) Technician Intern, you will work closely with our CPL-IT ITS Team to provide technical assistance and support to our internal users. You will gain practical experience in troubleshooting hardware and software issues, assisting with system upgrades, and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Evaluation of this position is based primarily on performance of the following essential functions, which include, but are not limited to:    

  • Provide first-level support to end-users by responding to and resolving technical issues in a timely and efficient manner. 
  • Log and document all support requests, ensuring accurate and detailed records of reported problems. 
  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, printers, and other hardware devices, as assigned. 
  • Support IT staff with installing, updating, and troubleshooting software applications and hardware issues as needed to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT procedures, configurations, and resolutions. 
  • Create user guides and documentation to empower end-users with self-help resources. 
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance technical skills and stay abreast of industry best practices. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
    Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently.

Program Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in current semester (Spring 2025)
  • Must enroll in a minimum of one Summer 2025 course
  • Must be returning to Tri-C for Fall 2025 Semester
  • Must have a declared major on record

This position is part of the Cuyahoga Community College Summer Internship Program.
