Social Media Intern

Lift For Life Gym is a non-profit, youth training center located in St. Louis city that serves disadvantaged, at-risk youth, ages 8-18 years, five days a week, year around. We offer impactful fitness programs such as Olympic-Style Youth Weightlifting, power lifting, and team sports, as well as recreational activities such as summer camp. We also make sure our youth members have necessary resources such as college preparation courses, tutoring services, and daily transportation between the Gym and home.  All of our services are free to our youth members.

 

 

Position Description 

 

POSITION TITLE:                                               Social Media Intern

 

Classification:                                                   12-16 week, part-time internship (12-15 hours per week - flexible)

Supervisor:                                                         Special Events & Marketing Coordinator

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY: 

 

Responsible for assisting the Development Director & Fitness Coordinator with marketing, social media and public relation efforts for Lift For Life Gym to promote and enhance youth experiences.

  • Developing, writing, and editing social media content for Lift For Life Gym’s social media pages.
  • Coordinating all of LFLG’s social media pages by writing and posting relevant content as well as replying to comments, messages, etc. 
  • Managing the social media efforts for our special event, St. Louis Microfest.
  • Ability to take pictures and videos during evening program hours and at events on some Saturday’s.
  • Creating and managing a social media calendar for the organization.
  • Miscellaneous duties as needed.

This position will have flexible office hours between 9:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday thru Thursday. Some weekend and evening hours required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook. Adobe Creative Suite experience desired.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • The ability to write with a creative flair is desired, as well as experience with Facebook and Instagram.
  • Excellent time management, organizational and judgment skills
  • Availability to work evening and some Saturday hours.
  • Working toward Masters or BS/BA in Marketing, Event Management or Non-Profit Management.
