Supervisor of Buildings

Responsibilities:

Schedule, oversee and manage the completion of day-to-day activities involving housekeeping and maintenance procedures of all county-owned buildings and overall facilities appearance; supervise and coordinate the work of all bargaining unit employees in the department. Responsible to prepare and maintain a variety or records, including but not limited to ordering of supplies, inventory levels, year-to-year contracts and status of facilities projects and work performed. Estimate costs for all programs of maintenance, building and equipment repair, remodeling; evaluate maintenance equipment for purchase; approve work orders and purchase requisitions for maintenance supplies and equipment; evaluate maintenance equipment for purchase; arrange for and manage third party contractor support as needed. Maintain and update security codes for building access; responsible for badging system; coordinate after hours use of County buildings. Respond and assist to a variety of emergency or special custodial and clean up duties. Subject to 24-hour call-back/stand-by to perform emergency maintenance and repair after normal working hours on nights, weekends and holidays. 

 

Qualifications:

High School diploma or G.E.D., Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred. A with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in complete building operations, with demonstrated technical competence in mechanical and electrical areas. Previous supervisory experience in a unionized environment. Possession of a valid Driver’s License.
