Wellness Coordinator - Summer 2025 - Work Study or Regular Pay
Position: Wellness Coordinator
Salary: $575 per week, room and board offered during active camp days
Salary, Training: $75 per day
Major Responsibilities: The Wellness Coordinator is responsible for thoroughly, and precisely, documenting medical situations and insuring camp staff utilize proper health protocols. The person in this role serves as a liaison with the Medical Trainer staff provided by UW-Whitewater for summer programming. Duties include assisting students in connecting with the Medical Trainer for minor illness, injury, and dispensing of medication as well as supporting Team Leaders that are reporting medical incidents. This position requires a commitment of 7 weeks and to assigned office hours.
Position contingent on grant funding and program needs.
Deliverables:
- Participate in all PC summer trainings and serve as an Authorized Adult for camp youth participants
- Finalize, confirm, and update the Medical Binders in preparation for camp.
- During camp check in, provide UWW Trainer with a medical binder and work with trainer to confirm student medication check-ins, etc.
- Communicate with Transportation Assistant to transport students to trainer; go with student campers to medical trainer facility
- Oversee interaction of student camper(s) and medical trainer(s), where appropriate
- Create meal sheets
- Assist Assistant Summer Managers with tracking and documentation of meal sheets
- Routine meal process audits, coach where necessary
- Able to stay overnight over the duration of camps, if possible
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Must be able to communicate effectively with both the middle and high school students and staff

- Must be able to diffuse conflict
- Must be detail oriented
- Participate in an individual employee professional development evaluation
American Association of Colleges and Universities:
The PreCollege Program participates in high-impact practice methodology defined by the American Association of Colleges and Universities to create sustainable student success goals and monitor progress toward achieving equity to improve educational outcomes for all students. Empirical evidence shows that students involved in high-impact practices enjoy higher levels of learning success. Staff participate in an intentional reflection on organizational outcomes, develop a personalized comprehensive plan, and are evaluated by an association approved rubric based on what policymakers and employers demand.
University of Wisconsin – Whitewater Diversity Leadership Certificate:
PreCollege Program staff successfully satisfying the following employment opportunity will receive credit toward earning UW-Whitewater’s Diversity Leadership Certificate, if eligible; students are still required to communicate with the facilitator of the certification program for finalization. The certificate is designed to allow students across the disciplines, to engage in in-depth diversity learning around issues of gender, race, ethnicity, class, sexuality, and ability. Geared toward building responsible citizens and reflective professionals, the overall certificate uses curricular and cocurricular activities to enhance knowledge, develop facilitation skills, and engage in productive collaborations across differences. Assessed through artifacts submitted to an ePortfolio, students will gain skills at building inclusive environments and an ability to address complex social issues.
Potential Dates of Employment: Monday, June 2, 2025 – Friday, July 25, 2025. Minimum of one week to a maximum of ten weeks, dependent on position; employment dates subject to change. Required training scheduled in the week of Monday, June 2, 2025.
