Slate is a new US company exploring development in the electric vehicle space.

Salary: $20 to $25 per Hour.

Who we are looking for:

• Seeking an enthusiastic intern to join our Engineering team as the Body Systems Engineering Intern for the Summer 2025 Semester (May to August).
• Must be available to commute to our Troy, MI location 5 days a week.
• Candidates who are passionate about gaining real-world engineering experience in an innovative automotive startup environment.
• Strong desire to contribute to cutting-edge vehicle engineering projects.
• Willingness to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and enhance vehicle body structures through creative problem-solving.

What you get to do:

• Monitor and report on the status of multiple body strength and durability tests that are conducted at a test supplier
• Candidate will be expected to manage test parts storage, handling, and delivery.
• Relay test details and timeline to test house Monitor multiple ongoing tests and report out status regularly to responsible engineering teams

What you bring to the team:

• Currently enrolled in the 3rd or 4th year of a Bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering.
• Maintains a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Possesses a keen troubleshooting mindset.
• Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills.
• Exhibits excellent attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
