Forestry/Wildlife Specialist
The Muskingum Soil and Water Conservation District is accepting applications for the position of Forestry/Wildlife Specialist.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, writing and inspecting basic CAUV woodland management plans for the County Auditor, natural resource conservation practice planning and implementation, GIS mapping, the District tree seedling sale, and equipment set-up and maintenance. Excellent communication skills are required as this position entails working with landowners and other agency personnel.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Arc GIS software. Must be physically capable of performing field work in weather extremes and rough terrain. Minimum is an associate’s degree in forestry, natural resource management, or closely related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Candidate must be insurable for vehicle operation, have a valid Ohio driver’s license, and be able to successfully pass a criminal background check, physical, and drug screening.
Position is full time, 40 hours per week. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include Public Employees Retirement (PERS), vacation leave, sick leave, and paid holidays. Medical, vision, dental and life insurances are available.
