Design software, functionality and material flow, execute, coordinate, and control the delivery of more than $100 million worth of fully automated distribution centers in North America. Responsible for all IT related activities including software design, development, network architecture and installation, customer coordination, testing, on-site commissioning, user training, and post deployment support. Design and oversee the development of software change requests, retrofits and expansions of legacy logistic systems, and material flow adjustments. Oversee contractual discussions with customer and project management. Oversee specification and documentation of customer requirements. Lead project teams of more than 20 people through projects. Responsible for building the IT team in the U.S. to be able to support North American based customers and logistic projects. The IT team consists of developers, analysts, and project leads. Handle high profile customers through project realization. Train the next generation of U.S. based Project Leads. This position supervises approximately 25 subordinates with titles such as Jr. Analyst, Analyst, Jr. Developer, Developer, Jr. Project Lead.

 

This position requires 3 years of related software development experience within a logistics environment. In the alternative, the company will accept a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 1 year of related software development experience within a logistics environment. Must also have 12 months of experience with each of the following: (1) Analyzing, designing, and supporting software solutions, including preparation of requirement and functional specifications within the logistics industry; (2) Completing initial setup for logistics centers, including item master data, host interface, processes for cross system communication, order processing, and label printing; (3) Coordinating international project teams; (4) IT project monitoring/controlling, testing, and commissioning within the intralogistics field; and (5) Providing first-level customer support for software design, project planning and budgeting, and change request management. 40% domestic and international travel required to oversee projects and conduct/receive training.
