Overnight Team Leader - Summer 2025 - Work Study or Regular Pay
Position: Overnight Team Leader (OTL)
Salary, Post Training: $360 per week
Salary, Training: $75 per day
Major Responsibilities:
This individual will conduct rounds in the residential areas that PreCollege occupies from 9:00PM-6:00AM. This staff person is responsible for walking the floors periodically to ensure that all participants are in their respective rooms on their respective floors as well as contacting UWW Police Services and/or supervisors when appropriate. This staff person is also required to submit reports for each round, such as all quiet or interactions with program participants throughout the night. Final reports must be submitted to Summer Manager every morning by 9:00AM. Other duties include serving as a back-up Team Leader when needed. This position requires a commitment of 6 weeks.
Position contingent on grant funding and program needs.
Deliverables:
- Participate in all PC summer trainings and serve as an Authorized Adult for camp youth participants
- Supervise campers on floor while day Team Leaders are hosting nightly meeting
- Ensure that behavioral expectations are met throughout the night during “lights out”
- Observe and respond to any incidents involving student safety or misbehavior
- Be a positive and respectful support if students are experiencing any challenges during the evening
- Notify the Assistant Summer Manager(s), and Summer Manager with a night time log, every hour on duty
- Call the Assistant Summer Manager on call for immediate support as needed
- Call emergency services if a crisis is occurring

The PreCollege Program participates in high-impact practice methodology defined by the American Association of Colleges and Universities to create sustainable student success goals and monitor progress toward achieving equity to improve educational outcomes for all students. Empirical evidence shows that students involved in high-impact practices enjoy higher levels of learning success. Staff participate in an intentional reflection on organizational outcomes, develop a personalized comprehensive plan, and are evaluated by an association approved rubric based on what policymakers and employers demand.
University of Wisconsin – Whitewater Diversity Leadership Certificate:
PreCollege Program staff successfully satisfying the following employment opportunity will receive credit toward earning UW-Whitewater’s Diversity Leadership Certificate, if eligible; students are still required to communicate with the facilitator of the certification program for finalization. The certificate is designed to allow students across the disciplines, to engage in in-depth diversity learning around issues of gender, race, ethnicity, class, sexuality, and ability. Geared toward building responsible citizens and reflective professionals, the overall certificate uses curricular and cocurricular activities to enhance knowledge, develop facilitation skills, and engage in productive collaborations across differences. Assessed through artifacts submitted to an ePortfolio, students will gain skills at building inclusive environments and an ability to address complex social issues.
Potential Dates of Employment: Monday, June 2, 2025 – Friday, July 25, 2025. Minimum of one week to a maximum of ten weeks, dependent on position; employment dates subject to change. Required training scheduled in the week of Monday, June 2, 2025.
